Sri Lanka Haj Delegation hails Saudi Arabia’s outstanding arrangements for Haj – 2025

Participating at the annual Hajj concluding Misk Ceremony at the Haj Ministry headquarters in Makkah on 8th June 2025, Sri Lanka Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Omar Lebbe Ameer Ajwad along with the Chairman of Sri Lanka Haj Committee Reyaz Mihular extended their felicitations, on behalf of the Government of Sri Lanka, to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques His Majesty King Salman bin Abdul Azeez and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul Azeez for their visionary leadership to make Haj -2025 arrangements as smooth, peaceful and a resounding success. They also extended their sincere appreciations to the Minister of Haj and Umrah Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, Vice Minister of Haj and Umrah Dr. Abdul Fatah Mishat as well as Deputy Minister Dr Ayed Algunaim, Deputy Minister for International Cooperation, Dr. Hassan AlManakhra, and Director General of Haj Affairs, Dr. Badr Alsolami for their unwavering support and assistance in facilitating 3500 Sri Lankan Haj pilgrims to perform their religious obligation this year. 

Ambassador Ameer Ajwad expressed his gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for extending invitations to twenty (20) Sri Lankan nationals to perform their Haj this year under the “Guests of God” program of the Kingdom. Ambassador Ameer Ajwad also thanked the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Sri Lanka H.E. Khalid Hamood Alkhatani for making necessary arrangements for their participation during the Haj -2025. 

Ambassador also commended the Ministry of Haj and Umrah for organizing an outstanding, efficient and exemplary arrangements for Haj this year and termed the 2025 Haj arrangements as a “global benchmark in Crowd Management and Smart Innovation.” 

Sri Lanka Haj delegation thanked the Saudi Ministry of Health for providing world-class healthcare services to the millions of Haj pilgrims from around the globe, including a heart surgery for a Sri Lankan pilgrim, with efficiency and compassion. The delegation also commended the tireless services rendered by the Saudi security and military officers as well as guides and volunteers with passion, humility and devotion. 

Sri Lanka Haj Committee in coordination with the Sri Lanka Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate General in Jeddah facilitated hosting of 3500 Sri Lankan Haj pilgrims under the care of one service provider, AlBait Guests, for the first time, in Mina and Arafah. Sri Lanka Haj delegation extended their sincere appreciation to Mr. Osama Danish, Managing Director of AlBait Guests, for their excellent cooperation and to Mr. Jalal M Alsalafi, Muallim for Sri Lankan Haj pilgrims for his generous and pilgrims-centered services towards the Sri Lankan Haj pilgrims.
