The Embassy processes passports on behalf of the Department of Immigration and Emigration, Sri Lanka. All applications are forwarded to Colombo twice monthly. Processing time is normally 3–4 months from submission. Applicants are contacted by phone and through official social media when the passport is ready for collection.
Office Hours
  • Submission: Sunday – Thursday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Collection: Sunday – Thursday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • The original payment receipt and current travel document must be presented at collection. Passports are released only to the applicant or a duly authorised representative.
New Passport – Newborn
SAR 485
Applies to Sri Lankan children born in Saudi Arabia who do not yet hold a passport. A no objection letter from both parents is required.
Required Documents
  • Completed Application Form K-35A   Download
  • Four recent passport-size photographs of the child (taken within 3 months)
  • Certified copy of the Consular Birth Certificate of the child
  • Citizenship Certificate or payment receipt for citizenship registration
  • Certified copies of both parents’ passport data pages (pages 2–3)
  • No objection letter (Both Parents)
  • Original payment receipt
Renew Passport – Adult (16 and above)
SAR 595
The renewed passport is valid for 10 years and covers all countries. The applicant must appear in person unless a valid authorisation letter is provided.
Required Documents
  • Completed Application Form E   Download
  • Four recent passport-size photographs (taken within 3 months)
  • Current original passport
  • Certified copies of the data page and observation page of the previous passport
  • Original payment receipt
Convert to All-Countries Passport
SAR 220
For holders of a Middle East-only restricted passport who wish to upgrade to an all-countries passport valid for 10 years.
Required Documents

Renew Passport – Minor (Under 16)
SAR 485 (3 yrs)  /  SAR 595 (10 yrs)
A minor passport is valid for 3 years or 10 years at the applicant’s choice. A no objection letter from both parents is required. For children born outside Sri Lanka, a Citizenship Certificate is mandatory.
Required Documents
  • Completed Application Form K-35A   Download
  • Four recent passport-size photographs of the child
  • Current original passport of the child
  • Certified copies of data and observation pages of the previous passport (pages 2–3 and 4–5)
  • Certified copy of the Birth Certificate of the child
  • Citizenship Certificate (if child was born outside Sri Lanka)
  • Certified copies of both parents’ passport data pages
  • No objection letter (Both Parents)
  • Original payment receipt
New Passport – Lost or Stolen
Important: A lost or stolen passport is immediately invalidated and shared with INTERPOL and international law enforcement databases. Do not attempt to use a reported passport under any circumstances. Report the loss or theft to local Saudi police immediately and obtain an official police report.

  • Four identical colour photographs (3.5×4.5 cm, taken within 3 months)
  • Copy of lost or stolen passport, if available
  • Official Saudi police report with certified English translation
