



Saudi Broadcasting Authority (SBA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Harthi received Sri Lanka Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ameer Ajwad at the SBA headquarters in Riyadh on 22.07.2025.
While extending a warm welcome to the Ambassador, CEO Al-Harthi thanked Ambassador Ameer Ajwad for his active participation at the Saudi Media Forum – 2025 held in February this year and emphasized the need to promote collaboration in the field of mass media between the two friendly countries. Ambassador Ameer Ajwad proposed mutual exchange of visits by media personnel with a view to further deepening people to people contacts and cultural understanding. Both sides explored opportunities for collaboration in various areas in the field of media including training opportunities and exchange of expertise and experience. They also discussed on the forthcoming Saudi Media Forum – version 2026 which is a flagship annual event hosted by Saudi Arabia in Riyadh, serving as the Kingdom’s premier forum for media professionals, policymakers, and tech leaders. It plays a central role in shaping the future of media in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
Saudi Government Television Channels such as al-Saudiya, SBC Channel, al-Ekhbariya Channel, Saudi Sports Channels, Quran Channel, and Sunnah Channel as well as Radio stations such as Quran Radio, Jeddah Radio, Riyadh Radio, Nida al-Islam Radio, Saudia Radio, and international Saudi radio stations are coming under the purview of the SBA.
CEO of the SBA Mohammed Al-Harthi has an illustrious career and rich experience in the field of journalism and media serving as the Editor-in-chief of big titles such as Arab News, Arrajol, Sayidaty, Journalist for Financial Times and Asharq Al-Awsat in London and Managing Editor in Al Eqtisadiah newspaper. He is also President of the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU), and President of Saudi Media Forum as well as Member of the board of directors at the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) and a member in the UK National Union of Journalists (NUJ).
