Indian Community in Riyadh Contributes Funds to Ditwah Relief Efforts in Sri Lanka

Responding to an initiative by the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Riyadh, the Indian Community in Riyadh donated SAR 31,000 (USD 8,000) to support the Ditwah disaster relief efforts in Sri Lanka.

The Convener of the Indian Community, Mr. Mohammed Zaigham Khan, and Steering Committee Member Dr. Mohideen Saleem met with the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Ameer Ajwad, at the Embassy premises in Riyadh on 28 December 2025, and officially handed over the contribution.

The Ambassador briefed the representatives on the impact of the devastation caused by Ditwah in Sri Lanka and extended his sincere appreciation to the Indian Community for their exemplary gesture in demonstrating solidarity with the people of Sri Lanka during this difficult time. Ambassador Ameer Ajwad also presented letters of appreciation to the members of the Indian Community who contributed to this humanitarian cause.

First Secretary of the Embassy, Mr. Vindana Munasinghe and Mr. Hameed, Embassy official, were also present at the event.
