General Information

1. Generally all foreign Nationals can obtain visa on arrival. (The nationals of Syria will have to apply in advance)

2. Any national can process their visa on line through www.eta.gov.lk

3. Any national can apply visa through Sri Lankan Embassy and Consulate General office- Jeddah in KSA

4. You hold a passport valid for a minimum period of six months from the date you arrive in Sri Lanka.

 

Types of Visa

Foreigners can apply for,

1. Visit Visa- (Tourist Visit Visa or Business Purpose Visa)

2. Residence Visa- (Employment Category, Investor Category, Religious Category, Student Category)

3. Transit Visa

 

Method of visa Apply

1. On Arrival Visa
   On arrival in Colombo, Sri Lanka, please produce your passport to the immigration officer at the port of entry to obtain the necessary clearance.

2. Electronic Travel Authentication (ETA)
   A traveler planning a holiday visit, a short business trip or to transit through Sri Lanka, can apply and obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) for entering in to Sri Lanka.

3. Applying Visa through Sri Lanka Embassy Riyadh/Consulate General office –Jeddah in KSA
   Any national can apply the following visa through Sri Lankan Embassy Riyadh and Consulate General office Jeddah in KSA.

   i) Tourist Visa

   ii) Business Visa

   iii) Applying for Work visa

   iv) Student visa
